Cancel a subscription on play.google.com (using a computer or a browser)

When you uninstalling an app, your subscriptions will not be canceled. So you will have to do it manually by yourself.

So below is how to cancel your subscription directly by yourself, using any web browser of your choice or personal computer (PC)

  1. Go to play.google.com.
  2. Check if you’re signed in to the correct Google Account.
  3. At the left, click My subscriptions.
  4. Select the subscription you want to cancel.
  5. Click Manage and then Cancel Subscription.
  6. Within the confirmation pop-up, click Yes

TIPS: If you have a subscription with an app and the app gets removed from Google Play, your future subscription will be canceled. Your past subscriptions will not be refunded.

Cancel a subscription on the Google Play app (Android)

What happens after you cancel

TIPS: When you cancel a subscription you’ll still be able to use your subscription for the time you’ve already paid.

For example, if you buy a one-year subscription on Jan. 1 for $10 and decide to cancel your subscription on July 1:

  • You’ll have access to the subscription until Dec. 31.
  • You won’t be charged another yearly subscription of $10 the following Jan. 1.
  • For Play Pass subscriptions, you’ll lose access to paid apps & games, in-app purchases, and ad-free experiences unlocked by your subscription.

Pause a subscription

Some apps will also let you pause your subscription. When you pause a subscription, your subscription will pause at the end of your current billing period.  

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Play Store
  2. Check if you’re signed in to the correct Google Account.
  3. Tap Menu and then Subscriptions.
  4. Select the subscription you want to pause.
  5. Tap Manage and then Pause payments.
  6. Set the time period to pause payments.
  7. Tap Confirm.

Restart payments for a paused subscription

You can resume your subscription anytime.

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Play Store
  2. Check if you’re signed in to the correct Google Account.
  3. Tap Menu and then Subscriptions.
  4. Select the subscription you want to start again.
  5. Tap Manage and then Resume.

Check your subscriptions & renewal dates

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Play Store
  2. Check if you’re signed in to the correct Google Account.
  3. Tap Menu and then Subscriptions.

The same payment method you used to buy the subscription will be charged when your subscription renews. Renewals may take place 24 hours before each subscription period starts.

To change or update the payment method used:  

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Play Store
  2. Check if you’re signed in to the correct Google Account.
  3. Tap Menu and then Subscriptions.
  4. Find the subscription you want to update.
  5. Choose from the following:
    • For active subscriptions, tap Manage.
    • To fix your payment method, tap Update.
  6. Follow the instructions to update your payment method.

If your payment method is declined or has insufficient funds, your subscription may be cancelled. Add a backup payment method, or set up your subscription again.
